Custom Tied Flies Deep Minnow (Clouser)
The Clouser has become one of the most fished and effective flies for saltwater fly fishing. Striped Bass is just one of the fish that you can use this fly for. Others like Bluefish, Bonefish, and just about any saltwater fish you are targeting will strike at a clouser.
This has become a hot fly for Striped Bass because it is like a mini version of a bucktail. The weighted eyes will get the fly down into deeper water and when used with a loop knot the jigging action that it produces can cause some nice striking action.
Mike at CTF uses Mustad Saltwater grade hooks and are very durable. He also has Done well at adapting this fly for saltwater use. He has created a larger profile without adding a lot of weight. Keeping it sparse is one of the reasons CTF Clouser is so productive for us.
